I believe couples come into therapy with a great deal of strength to help themselves and each other. I see my job as helping people unlock these strengths, see what patterns have blocked them from seeing them, and find ways to use them more effectively to realize their goals. I work to help couples get as much joy as possible from their relationship and from their lives in general.
I have been in practice for over thirty years working with couples, individuals, and families. I have trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy. I have a certificate in Family Therapy from The Ackerman Institute, a certificate in Psychoanalysis from The Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey (CPPNJ), and a certificate in treating substance abuse from NYU. I have taught couples and family therapy on the graduate and post graduate level.
In addition, to my private practice in Summit, NJ, I am Dean of Students for the NJ Couples Therapy Training Program (NJCTTP) and a faculty member and supervisor for the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of NJ (CPPNJ).
