My therapeutic philosophy is based in the human need for secure attachment as foundational to the development of healthy relationships and the ability to recover and repair emotional injuries. Through the application of the EFT model (which is based in attachment theory), I help clients to identify their negative interactional patterns, heal their relationships, and rebuild their secure bonds. It is a privilege to walk alongside my client couples as they travel on this path toward reconnection with the most important person in their lives - their mate, their lover, their life partner, their best friend. I also integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other trauma-informed approaches in my couples work when deemed most useful in facilitating the couples’ joint journey.
I work with individuals - both children and adults - who have histories of relational and complex trauma. These individuals include: survivors of child abuse and neglect; those struggling with addiction, anxiety, and depression; victims of bullying; and members of marginalized social groups. I have extensive experience working with persons of diverse cultural and social-economic backgrounds and take pride in my cross-cultural skills.
